1. FISH
    Food distribution by appointment. Main assistance consists of food and clothing. Case by case assistance for prescription drugs.

2. FOCUS 4
    Focus 4 is Western Lane County's resource, referral and crisis line. A Focus 4 operator can be reached 7 days a week, 24 hours. We do our best to answer questions, help resolve problems, and put you in touch with resources you need. This is a program of Siuslaw Area Women's Center.

3. Family Health Insurance Assistance Program
    The Family Health Insurance Assistance Program (FHIAP) helps families purchase health insurance through a subsidy. The amount paid for the insurance by the family depends on the income and the coverage chosen. In most cases the contribution will be a relatively small portion of the overall cost.

4. Family History Center
    Provides help to anyone in tracing lines of ancestry. The library contains books, microfiche and microfilm records and compact disc with 200 million names to aid an individual in searching out his/her family. Call ahead to sign up for computer time.

5. Family Ties
    Provides emotional support and search assistance for members of the adoption triad (i.e. adoptees, birth-parents, adoptive parents), and others who are looking for 'missing blood relatives'. Independent Search Consultant services available with a negotiable fee. Have free meetings and free Reunion Registry. Contact Helen Gallagher. Meetings are held in the Eugene Central Presbyterian Church, 1475 Ferry, the 3rd Wednesday of the month from 7-9p. Call for meeting information.

6. Fanconi Anemia Research Fund, Inc.
    The FA research Fund raises funds and awards grants for research into effective treatments and a cure for this fatal genetic disorder. It provides education and support to affected families and treating professionals worldwide directly by phone, annual symposia, and internet. It publishes the FA Handbook, and semi-annual FA news and science letters (also available at the web site).

7. Fern Ridge Library
    Provides books, magazines, newspapers, videotapes, audiovisual materials, paperbacks, large print books, and reference service. Offers a collection of adult low reading level materials, English as a Second Language materials, GED materials,and vocational materials. Provides literacy referrals. Offers children's story reading hour and other programs, public Internet access, interlibrary loan service, and a typewriter for public use.

8. Fibromyalgia of Lane County Support Group
    Provides education, information, and understanding. Weekly self help classes, Tuesday 6p; support groups, Thursday 1p; private sessions available.

9. First Christian Church - Helping Hand Room
    Provides clothing for men, women and children; layettes for new mothers; kitchen items; and bedding to people in need. Most items are used and in good condition. No food or furniture. Call church for appointment. Toys will be given to parents for their children in the month of December by appointment only.

10. First Way
    Provides pregnancy support services including free early detection pregnancy testing and counseling, free maternity and baby clothes, and community resource referral. Free pregnancy verification by doctor for ADC applicants. Shelter in private homes provided when available. Post-abortion counseling is available.

11. Fleischman, Matthew Ph.D.
    Provides assessment and treatment of attention, learning and behavior disorders in children, teens, and adults. Offers EEG (brain-wave) biofeedback in addition to modification and behavior strategies as an alternative to the use of medicationsin treatment of ADD and learning disorders. Uses EMDR (eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing) therapy for post-traumatic stress syndrome. Provides family and marriage counseling.

12. Florence Boys and Girls Club
    Club with youth development programs for youth aged 6-18.

13. Florence Food Share
    Provides food boxes for people in need.

14. Florence Jobs Program
    Adult welfare reform program that assists adults in job search and life skills.

15. Florence Literacy Council
    Provides tutoring for basic reading, spelling, math, GED preparation, driver's written test and English as a Second Language. Tutoring is conducted both privately and through Lane Community College.

16. Food for Lane County
    Distributes emergency food throughout Lane County through over 60 helping agencies. Also acts as a central referral agency for people in need of emergency food (food boxes and food on-site). Programs include the Grassroots Garden where people can learn and share gardening skills; Food Rescue Express; 5000 Neighbors, a subscription giving program; and Kids Eat Too, a community response to our childrens basic needs and coordination of gleaning groups. In the Spring of 1999 we will be moving to 770 Bailey Hill Road.

17. Food for Lane County - Summer Food Program
    The Summer Food Program is administered to school age children during the summer months. Approximately 35 meal sites are located throughout Lane County, serving free lunches to children 18 years old and under. The program is operated in accordance with U.S. Department of Agriculture policy. Program operates from late June to mid August.

18. Friends of Florence
    Round trip transports for cancer patients to Willamette Valley Cancer Center. Bus leaves Peace Harbor Hospital Monday-Friday at 8:30a.
