1. GED Program
    Prepares students in the five areas of GED tests (reading comprehension, writing, science, math and social studies). The GED certificate stresses skills rather than credits as in H.S. completion programs. Study materials are provided tostudents after evaluation of their needs. Full-time attendance is mandatory.

2. Genesis Recovery Center
    Medically supervised detox. Residential program including group and one-on-one counseling, lectures, integration into AA/NA, family support, counseling and education, exercise program, good nutrition, drug-specific education, women's group, weekend program including recreation. Intensive Outpatient: 80 hours of group counseling, education, assessment, family therapy, and AA/NA exposure over an 8 week period. Dual diagnosis treatment. Separate program for adults 55 and older. Intervention training provided.

3. Get Up & Go, Lane County Edition
    A monthly magazine for mature adults with special emphasis on senior issues including news, calendar of events, and ads geared to mature adults. Serves all of Lane County plus three other editions serving Albany, Salem and Portland. Free at markets, offices, senior centers, etc., or available by subscription. Mail or home delivery services. 18,000 copies published every month in Lane County. Submissions to Calendar of Events and Business Beat are welcomed. No charge. Copy deadline: 10th of the month preceding issue. Send copy to corporate office.

4. Girl Scouts of the USA
    Girl Scouting gives girls the opportunity to develop their potential, make friends, and become a vital part of their community. Based on ethical values, it opens up a world of opportunity for youth working in partnership with adult volunteers. The program offers girls a broad range of activities which address both their current interests and their future roles. Through activities that stimulate self-discovery, they are introduced to the excitement in the worlds of science, the arts, the out-of-doors well-being and people.

5. Glaucoma 2001
    The Glaucoma 2001 Program encourages those who are AT RISK for Glaucoma to have a Dilated Eye Examination, the most effective way of detecting the disease in its early stages. Anyone at moderate to high risk can be referred to an opthamologist an exam. The risk factors are age, Glaucoma in one's immediate family, belonging to the racial group most at risk (African Americans) and length of time since last medical eye care. Those with no insurance are seen without charge. Citizenship or legal residency required. Those with access to care in other ways (an HMO, VA hospital, etc.) are not eligible. Doctors' fee waived for patients with no insurance.

6. God's Storehouse
    Provides emergency food for Harrisburg, Junction City area residents and some homeless. Also provides clothing at $.20/item unless otherwise marked. This service is open to the public.

7. Goldson's Grange
    Provides food boxes. Also houses community library. Food 3rd Thursday 10-6; Library hours Tuesday 7p-9p; Thursday 10-4; Child play group, ages 0-5, 1st and 3rd Thursday 10-12. Blood Pressure Clinic open to public. Call for information.

8. Goodwill Industries of Lane County
    Provides vocational training, work-adjustment training, job placement services, and follow-up services.Offers literacy and GED preparation, assessment, situational assessment, and instruction on skills development. Goodwill Industries of Lane County isalso located at 102 30th Street in Springfield.

9. Goodwill Industries of Lane County
    Provides comprehensive vocational services to disabled/disadvantaged individuals. Includes evaluation, work training, vocational counseling, employment preparation, placement services and supported employment.

10. Goodwill Industries of Lane County - Cottage Grove
    Provides comprehensive vocational services to disabled/disadvantaged individuals. Includes evaluation, work training, vocational counseling, employment preparation, placement services and supported employment.

11. Grandparents for Family Justice
    A state-wide support group for grandparents to help them get visitation of grandchildren. Also works to change the laws in order to keep families together. Meeting last Wednesday of month, 11a at the First Evangelical Church, 8th and Monroe in Eugene.

12. Greenhill Humane Society, SPCA
    Provides a variety of animal-related services: adoptions, lost and found, euthanasia, pet cemetery, low-cost spay and neuter assistance for low/fixed-income people, school and public education programs, pet therapy, tours, Domestic Violence Program, Cruelty Investigation Department and miscellaneous-related animal services.

13. Greyhound - Children's Programs
    'Operation: Home Free': Free, one-way transportation for runaway children 12-17 returning home voluntarily. Must be confirmed by a police officer and have a police report. Runaway must call 800-621-4000.

14. Greyhound - Helping Hand Program
    The Helping Hand program allows a physically or mentally disabled person (who needs assistance) and a companion to travel together on a single adult fare ticket. People in wheelchair must give 24 hour notice. Call 1-800-752-4841 to notify Greyhound of need.

15. Guided Learning Options
    Individualized, open-entry program with an option for credit for verifiable life/work experience. Remaining credits may be completed through directed study, adult education classes (for elective credit), college credit or high school completion courses. Offers distance learning opportunities for students with computers and modem access. Graduates meet all or egon state credit requirements for a high school diploma. This program offers individual program planning, assessment, and flexible scheduling.
