Provides referral information regarding issues affecting women, events and workshops, job information, advocacy. Also provides discussion groups around issues, including Being a Non-Traditional Woman, Student and the Duality of Sexism and Racism.

Offers workshops on career choice and change, resume writing and interview skills. Career library contains employer directories and employer literature. Career interest assessment is also available.

4. U of O - DeBusk Memorial Center

Provides low-cost counseling and assessment for adults, children, and families, and training for graduate students in Counseling Psychology and School Psychology programs at the University of Oregon. Parent training groups may be offered. Supervision of students is provided by faculty in Counseling Psychology and School Psychology. All interviews/sessions are videotaped for purposes of supervision; confidentiality is protected. Initial interview must be scheduled in advance. Leave a message with best times to be reached.

Provides hearing evaluation and report.

7. U of O - Office of International Education and Exchange

Provides information for students and faculty from other countries about admissions, housing, US immigration regulations, employment opportunities and scholarship aid. The office also provides academic and personal counseling, helps students adjust to life in this country and coordinates the Friendship Family Program which introduces students to local families. Can provide interpreters or translators for emergency situations.

The Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) is dedicated to empowering students of color to successfully complete their University of Oregon education. OMA strives to meet this responsibility by providing an honest and caring atmosphere sensitive to all students.

9. U of O - Psychology Clinic

Provides effective mental health services for clients and training for doctoral students in Clinical Psychology. Individual and group therapy for depression, as well as assessment and treatment for children and families.

10. U of O - Relief Child Care Program - Florence
|
Offers free relief child-care for low-income, at-risk children. Available for children birth-20 months Monday 1-4, and birth-6 years Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 8:30-11:30 and 1-4:30. Can hold a maximum of 10 kids and maintains a waiting list. Developmentally appropriate for high-need kids. We are able to accept any special needs child. Parent education and support group and referral of services. Parent/child play groups, open to the community, 1st and 3rd Friday 10-12. There is a maximum of 30 children; waiting list is also the on-call list. Other programs are: Pace Child, and Kiwanis Program (Saturday 9-4 once a month).

11. U of O - Speech Language Hearing Center

Provides diagnostic and remediation services for individuals of all ages with communication disorders including: articulation, language, augmentative communication, voice, stuttering and hearing. Service is provided in individual and group settings.

12. U of O - Speech Language Hearing Center - Stuttering Support Group
|
Stuttering Support Group for adolescents and adults meets one time per week. Meetings are generally held in Room 105, CSB. Call for current meeting times. Facilitated by two graduate students in Speech Pathology. Informal setting; members share common experiences, etc. New members are always welcome. Individual evaluation and treatment available.

13. U of O - Student Financial Aid

Administers programs (federal, state, and private) to assist students and their families in paying for the costs of going to college. Our goal is to provide assistance to students who, without such aid, would not be able to attend college. By making application, students are applying for grants, loans, jobs and scholarships.

14. US Dept. of Veterans Affairs - Eugene Vet Center
|
Provides counseling services for World War II, Korean, Vietnam, and post-Vietnam conflict and their families. Counseling is also available for Veterans who have experienced sexual trauma while in the military (regardless of era or gender). Group and individual counseling is available. Specific services include: Peer support groups, self-help groups, and rap groups; drug and alcohol treatment referrals; employment counseling; and information and referral on veteran-related issues.

15. US Dept. of Veterans Affairs - Health Care for Homeless Veterans
|
The homeless veterans' program is a treatment program which provides outreach, intake assessment, psychiatric and medical evaluation, initiation of treatment, residential treatment in community, case management and advocacy.

16. US Dept. of Veterans Affairs - VA Clinic
|
Comprehensive mental health services including psychiatry, psychology, outpatient alcohol treatment, alcohol aftercare, homeless veteran program for the chronically mentally ill, and a community care program for nursing home and foster home veterans. Medical services include scheduled general care, compensation and pension examinations, preventative health care screening, support and consultation for the mental health programs. No emergency services are available. A vocational rehabilitation program is now available. Laundry (Monday through Friday 8-3), showers (Monday through Friday 8-11,1-3:30) and lunch (Monday through Friday 11-1) are available for homeless veterans.

17. US Internal Revenue Service - Tax Assistance
|
Services include: Tax-Aide, a volunteer income tax program for the elderly, disabled or low income people. There are twelve sites in Lane County - call for nearest location.

18. US Social Security Administration
|
The Social Security Office processes social security applications for retirement, disability, and survivors' benefits; processes applications for social security cards; provides general information such as benefit estimates and history of earnings; processes applications for Medicare; and services problems and questions for those already on the rolls.

19. US Social Security Administration - Supplemental Security Income Program
|
Social Security has benefits for those who have lost income due to retirement, disability or death. A variety of family benefits are available. Also administers Supplemental Security Income Program (SSI) which provides financial assistance for those blind or disabled or 65 years of age and older.

United Way of Lane County brings together the resources of our community...volunteers, funds, knowledge and goodwill, to help those in need. United Way builds a healthy community by involving community members (volunteers) in studying and prioritizing human service needs, partnering with local programs to address those needs and raising and disseminating money, volunteers and in-kind resources to strengthen priority human services Current priorities include services for improving children's lives, feeding the hungry, giving shelter, healing sick, enriching the lives of people with disabilities, and protecting families from abuse and violence.

21. United Way of Lane County - Volunteer Connection
|
United Way Volunteer Connection recruits and refers volunteers of all ages to non-profit human service agencies in the community. In addition, Volunteer Connection provides consultation to agencies on volunteer program development and management, and promotes the use of volunteers in Lane County. Groups or individual volunteers can call the Volunteer Connection (741-6000) anywhere in Lane County to be counseled about their interests over the phone. They are then referred to volunteer jobs in Lane County non-profit agencies.
