1. W. A. Woodard Memorial Library
    Provides books, magazines, newspapers, videotapes, audiovisual materials, large print books, and reference service. Offers a collection of adult low reading level materials, English as a Second Language materials, and GED materials.Provides literacy referrals. Offers children's story hour, public Internet access, and interlibrary loan service.

2. Weintraub, Skye N.D.
    Treats digestive disorders and chronic illnesses using herbal medications, nutritional supplements and homeopathy. Specializes in the identification and treatment of food, chemical, and environmental sensitivities related to hyperactivity, behaviorproblems, Attention Deficit Disorder and other chronic disorders, including parasites. Counseling is provided on diet and lifestyle changes.

3. Western Lane Ambulance District
    Provides an advanced life support ambulance service staffed 24 hours.

4. Wheelchair and Disabled Taxi
    Provides regular taxi service for people with disabilities. Stretcher/recliner and wheelchair available. May be able to do last minute calls.

5. White Bird - CAHOOTS - Crisis Assistance Helping Out On The Streets
    CAHOOTS is a mobile crisis intervention team integrated into the City of Eugene's Public Safety system. Free response is available for a broad range of non-criminal crises including intoxication, disorientation, substance abuse and mental illness problems, dispute resolution and street facilitation. The CAHOOTS van can be dispatched through the City's 911 department. Transport to treatment is also provided. The service is confidential and voluntary. It is staffed and managed by White Bird Clinic.

6. White Bird - Chrysalis Acupuncture Recovery and Detox Services
    This service is for people wanting to stop the use of drugs and/or alcohol. The treatment is provided by licensed acupuncturists in a group setting. It is available five evenings a week on a walk-in basis; no appointment is necessary. The program is designed to assist those in the initial detox period, to support people during early stages of abstinence and to aid in relapse prevention. Support, referral and drug-free treatment are available on-site. Fees are based on ability to pay. OHP accepted. Treatment sessions last 45 minutes. Must be there by 5:45 to be treated that day.

7. White Bird - Chrysalis Drug Treatment
    Provides outpatient drug treatment for Lane County. Treatment includes group, couples and individual counseling, drug education classes, medical review, drug screening, and aftercare. Drug testing is available for low-cost fees. Services are for those with abuse or dependency problems with all drugs other than alcohol. Free alcohol and drug treatment is available through special programs for the homeless, ex-offenders and Title XIX referrals.

8. White Bird - Community Dental Clinic
    Basic dental services are provided including fillings, extractions, and cleaning. Immediate need care is provided to low-income people of all ages through emergency walk-in clinics. Preventive and on-going care is provided to children and Oregon Health Plan recipients with open cards, ODS, or Capitol by appointment. Call for further information including dates and times of clinics.

9. White Bird - Counseling Program
    Provides individual, couples and family counseling. This therapy is for adults wanting to clarify and explore issues in their lives or for more in-depth healing and growth. Call for a free intake interview and review of counseling options. Weekly counseling is provided by co-counselors. Fees are low-cost and adjustable for those with minimal incomes.

10. White Bird - Crisis Service Center
    Provides a 24-hour emergency response for anyone in crisis, including a phone hotline, walk-in crisis counseling, and mobile intervention when necessary. Crisis services are open to individuals, couples, families and groups. CAHOOTS, a street intervention van, is available within the City of Eugene (see CAHOOTS entry). The center is an entry point for the Lane County Mental Health System, providing mental health screening, and information and referral to community mental health and counseling resources. It is also the screening center for special transportation services for the mentally disabled. The program provides crisis services for Lane County families enrolled in the New Opportunities Program.

11. White Bird - HIV Testing With Counseling
    Testing for HIV antibodies is provided on a totally anonymous basis. Pretest and post-test HIV counseling includes information on the disease, the test, preventive measures and community resources. The two visits needed are delivered free of charge, on a walk-in basis with no appointment needed. Target clients are people with a significant risk of exposure to the virus. Day and evening clinics are available.

12. White Bird - Homeless Health Care Project
    A wide range of health services is provided to homeless individuals and families. These services include primary medical care, case management, outpatient drug treatment, group therapy, drug detox, mental health counseling and evaluation, advocacy, and transport to treatment. Help may be accessed through the Homeless Services Coordinators, HATS appointments, or through specific White Bird programs (see neighboring entries).

13. White Bird - IMPACT
    IMPACT (Interagency Management-Planned Approach to Community Treatment) is an interagency effort, staffed by White Bird Clinic, to bring together diverse human service agencies to develop coordinated approaches to helping a small group of consumers who consume a disproportionate share of the agencies' efforts and resources. Simultaneously, we strive to maintain high standards of client confidentiality. In addition, IMPACT provides intensive and holistic case management for a selected group of these consumers.

14. White Bird - Info Line
    Comprehensive information and referral concerning human service resources in Lane County available to all, with a focus on assistance to people with low incomes or special needs. Phone and walk-in assistance is available. Adjunct services include message and mail drop services for homeless people, publication of the annual HELP Directory and a quarterly newsletter, "In Formation."

15. White Bird - Medical Clinic
    Provides low-cost and free medical treatment for those with medical problems and severe financial need. Also does well-child and gynecological exams. $30-$35 sliding scale for new visit and $23-$28 sliding scale for established patients. Lab testing and medications also provided on a low-cost basis. Free services and special clinics available for homeless and impoverished people. Hospital admissions, specialist care and diagnostic services are arranged for clinic clients when feasible. Weekly optometrist/optician clinics for those in need of vision exams and eyeglasses.

16. White Bird - Willamette School of Human Services
    State-licensed school offering courses and on-the-job training in various areas of human services. Current courses include Basic Crisis Intervention, Advanced Crisis Intervention, Counseling Theory and Practice, Drug and Alcohol trieatment internship and Community Service. Fees are waived in return for volunteer commitment. Classes start quarterly.

17. Whiteaker Even Start
    A federally-funded family literacy program that provides learning opportunities to families with children ages birth to 8. The program integrates adult basic skills education, early childhood education, GED preparation, job training, andparenting support.

18. Willamalane Park District
    Provides recreational programs and services to Springfield. Departments include Dorris Ranch-Living History Farm, Community Recreation, Sports, Aquatics, Specialized Recreation, Seniors, and School Enrichment and Recreation and a drop in Teen Center. Preschool and school-aged care year round. Special facility and nutrition program for seniors. A wave pool and kiddie pool at The Lively Park Swim Center. 19. Willamalane Park District - Dorris Ranch
    Self-guided tours, easy 1 1/2 mile walk. Brochures available at ranch entrance. Available year-round during daylight hours. Call 746-1669 for special event information. Barn, picinic area and the historically renovated Tomseth house available for special events. Call for reservations.

20. Willamalane Park District - Take a Peek Boutique
    A consignment sales shop where Willamalane Park district seniors may sell their handmade items. Seniors must price their own items. Consignment limited to those 55 yrs or older and live in Willamalane boundaries. Sale items are open to anyone.

21. Willamalane Park and Recreation District - Senior Adult Activity Center
    Offers a range of recreational programs such as trips, classes, outdoor programs; specialty shops for pottery/ceramics, woodwork, and lapidary and consignment craft shop. Also provides health and support services such as Senior Meals Program, legal advice, health screenings, and transportation to the center for eligible persons. Appointments are needed for some services. Senior services outreach worker is stationed at the center for screening and referral for transportation to doctor appointments, senior companions, meals on wheels, certification for Medi-share.

22. Willamette Family Treatment Services, Inc. - Buckley House
    Inpatient chemical dependency detoxification and referral services. Licensed as nonmedical facility with a nurse on duty 4 hours and house doctor on call 24-hours per day. All clients screened in sobering station and referred to full detox program, as appropriate. Alcohol primary detoxes may walk in anytime and be admitted. Drug primary detoxes need to be pre-screened by medical staff. Services include: group and individual counseling, alcohol/drug education, disease concepts education, treatment planning, intro to 12-step groups, nutrition and vitamin therapy, medical and vital signs monitoring, HIV/AIDS education and counseling and treatment agency referrals.

23. Willamette Family Treatment Services, Inc. - COED Outpatient
    Level I and II out patient treatment with morning and evening groups available.

24. Willamette Family Treatment Services, Inc. - Men's Residential
    Residential alcohol/drug treatment for men.

25. Willamette Family Treatment Services, Inc. - Project Start
    Out-patient treatment for adolescent females. May be pregnant and/or parenting.

26. Willamette Family Treatment Services, Inc. - Women's Residential Programs
    Residential treatment for women, pregnant women, and/or women with children ages 0-6 years old.

27. Willamette National Forest Service
    Provides maps, trail information, recreation site information, 'Golden Age' permits for seniors, and 'Golden Access' cards for disabled.

28. Willamette Valley Cancer Center
    This facility is a full service cancer treatment center. In addition to chemotherepy and state of the art radiation therepy, the facility offers diagnostic X-ray, pharmacy, lab and clinical research. A social worker, dietician and counselor are available for patients as needed. Support groups, educational opportunities and meeting facilities for cancer patients, their families and other cancer related community groups are also available at the center.

29. Willamette Wildlife Rehabilitation
    Dedicated to saving wildlife through the avenues of rehabilitation and public education. Sick, injured, or orphaned wild animals are treated medically or raised, using methods which prepare them for release and survival in the wild. A network of volunteers, trained and ready to care for rescued wildlife, insures that birds and mammals receive the best care possible. Education programs are designed to enhance awareness, appreciation, and respect for the wildlife around us.

30. Women, Infants and Children - Lane County
    Provides nutrition education and food supplements to low-income pregnant and breast-feeding women, and to infants and children up to age 5 with medical/nutritional risk factors. Nutrition counseling, classes, and handouts; food vouchers for formula, milk, eggs, cereal, juice, beans, cheese and peanut butter. Screens for dietary concerns, iron deficiency and growth concerns. This WIC program has offices in Eugene, Oakridge (782-4218), Cottage Grove(942-9447) and Florence (997-8219).

31. Womenspace
    24 hour crisis/information phone line for victims of domestic violence. 15 bed emergency shelter for women and dependent children who are victims of domestic violence. Shelter residents are provided with information, advocacy, food and clothing, children's services, and help with transportation. Community support groups; community education presentations; transitional programs.

32. Womenspace - Cottage Grove
    Assistance for women in Cottage Grove and rural areas surrounding Cottage Grove in cases of domestic violence. Community education and support group available. Call for more information - AFS office 942-6905.

33. Womenspace - Domestic and Sexual Advocacy Center
    Advocacy for victims and survivors of domestic and/or sexual violence and their families and friends.

34. Womenspace - Junction City Rural Outreach Program
    Assistance for women in rural areas surrounding Junction City in cases of domestic violence. Community education. Support group meets Thursday 6:30-8:30p. Call 485-6513 or 1-800-281-2800 for location of support group. Drop-in hours: Wednesday 1-3p. Counseling and advocacy by appointment.

35. Womenspace - Oakridge
    Assistance for women in Oakridge and surrounding areas in cases of domestic violence. Community education and support group available. Services provided at the Willamette Activity Center (47674 School St, Oakridge). Call for more information.
